Three Things I Have Discovered Recently:
1. Grapes are delicious.
2. Wilson Phillips holds a special place in my heart.
3. The scale is trying to kill me!
1. It's not that I've never had grapes of course, but I guess I just never think to buy them. They caught my attention while roaming through my Price Chopper (and I say MY Price Chopper because I honestly believe it should be mine considering how much time I spend there) and I just couldn't resist buying a bag. Needless to say, they didn't last very long, but do not fret, I grabbed some more during my shopping spree yesterday. Between Addy, Beckett and I, they don't stand a chance. Delicious!
2. Oh Wilson Phillips... What can I say? One of the first Cd's I owned was Wilson Phillip's self-titled debut album in 1990. I can honestly say I only listened to the first 2 songs on the CD, "Hold On" and "Release Me." Occasionally I'd skip to #5, "You're In Love," but there was no way I'd shut the CD off without playing "Hold On" one more time. You may want to know why Wilson Phillips has crossed my mind today perhaps? Well they have come together again for a Christmas CD. They sang on The View this morning. Typically I don't watch The View, mostly because half those women annoy me, but also because that's usually the time the kids are waking up from their morning nap and if Between the Lions isn't on, I might get clobbered. But, I saw my girls Carnie, Wendy and Chynna were going to be making an appearance so I had to watch. We'll just say I won't be buying "Christmas In Harmony" anytime soon, but I will always have "Hold On" at my fingertips when I need a Wilson Phillips fix."Some day somebody's gonna make you want to turn around and say goodbye. Until then baby are you going to let them hold you down and make you cry? Don't you know? Don't you know things can change. Things'll go your way, if you hold on for one more day. Can you hold on for one more day? Things'll go your way...Hold on for one more day."
3. Ugh, the scale. It's no secret that women don't want to admit to themselves how much they weigh, but I think it's safe to say that a pregnant woman can convince herself that the baby must be at least 15 pounds at 25 weeks right? I don't weigh myself at home... You know, that way I can be surprised once I step on the scale at the Doctor's office in front of my nurse. I've had the same nurse see me at every Doctors appointment for both pregnancies and bless her heart, she never blinks and eye when the numbers go up every time I step on that damn scale. But I will say one thing I like about going to the Doctors office, and that is the routine. I love that I always check in with the same receptionist, that I always sit in the same area in the waiting room, that the same nurse always calls me back and ALWAYS says "blood pressure is gooooood," the exact same way, that Dr. Holmes always has a little chat with me about the nothings in life before we do anything baby, and that we always end the appointment talking about my next visit. And I love that when I leave I have the same excited feeling I always have in knowing that my baby girl is doing well!So I guess all I am saying today is get yourself some seedless red grapes, have Wilson Phillip's "Hold On" on repeat in the CD player and stay as far away from the scale as you possibly can! I warned you these postings wouldn't blow your socks off right? =)
Sincerely Yours,

What I know: I love, love, love your blog! Having been buried in finals and projects the past couple of weeks, this is my first visit. Since I don't get to see you or chat regularly anymore, I love reading what's going on with you in your characteristically charming, funny style. I have to say that your musings about waking up so thankful in "The Pregnancy Look" had me even a little teary-eyed. :) Keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Amanda
P.S. I LOVE that original Wilson-Phillips CD, too! :)
