Ahhhh, Christmas decorations. Maybe a weird first posting, but hey, I said this was going to be about my everyday life right? And today was all about Christmas. I thought I was doing myself a favor by getting the tree up early. Little did I know that I would spend my entire day dragging decorations out of storage, analyzing what all I have and more importantly, what I don't have, and then spending over an hour at Hobby Lobby, only to bring it all home and have to spend the remainder of my afternoon putting it all up. EXHAUSTING!
I am not sure what is worse; falling in love with something only to find out it is way out of your price range, OR grabbing everything that is on sale and finding that the 50% off items add up rather quickly, making the total at the cash register much higher than you had hoped. Being as indecisive as I am, it takes me forever to find the "perfect" something. I would guess that about 10-15 items crossed paths with my shopping cart during my hour Hobby Lobby shopping spree. Something would go in, I'd change my mind, and it would go right back on the shelves again. I passed the same people over and over again, who were either being as indecisive as I, or had nothing better to do that mosey around for a couple of hours. At least with each passing, they received a friendly "Hi" from Addalyn. Not a soul walked by us that didn't get spoken too from my happy little shopping buddy. Even those who were hardly within ear shot were greeted with enthusiasm from across the aisle. =)
I knew my hardworking husband would ask my total as soon as he walked in the door so I wanted to make sure everything was up and looking beautiful so I could confidently say, "Doesn't everything look great?" I am glad Garrett is a sucker for Christmas. Because I had such a short amount of time to work with, I found myself going 100 miles per hour, laying fabric, displaying the nativity sets, hanging garland, wrapping gifts, stringing lights, nailing up stockings...all while keeping the lady entertained, cooking dinner, cleaning up after my messes, and trying to catch what I could of the Ellen Degeneres show. At least I got to end my night by cleaning up the bathtub and bath toys after Addy decided that pooping in the bathtub was a good idea! Ei-Yi-Yi!!
I'll be honest and say it feels like I have ran a marathon today. That could be due to the fact that I am pregnant and my idea of working out is walking up and down our many sets of stairs daily. But the decorating is done, I am happy with how it turned out, and it was a great start to a weekend at home with the fam! I am signing off for the night but feel free to catch a taste of Christmas spirit at the Forsythe house!
Sincerely Yours,
