Our park trip today was an eventful one. I helped reunite a lost dog with its owner, Addy was attacked by a bee (or maybe it was just flying a little too close, but I will pretend it was going to destroy her like she thought) and we discovered that Liva has the coolest static hair ever when she slides down the slide.
The three of us tend to be just that, a threesome. We do everything together and it is pretty rare that I get any one on one time with the girls individually. Last night was one of those rare occasions. Liva went to bed early and Dad was busy so I sat down next to Addy at her art easel in the playroom and just soaked in my little 2 1/2 year old baby.
I could listen to Addalyn talk for hours. She is the smartest, funniest kid on he planet and she never ceases to amaze me or make me laugh. I asked her if I could get the camera and tape her and she told me I could. I must have hesitated because after a few seconds she turned and looked me square in the eye and said again, "Yes, you can," as if she really wanted me to get up and get that camera rolling.
It wasn't an outrageous conversation, just a typical Addy conversation, but I am so thankful I got it on tape. Talking to her is one of my favorite things in the world to do and as simple as it is, I am afraid I will forget those moments some day. Now I can turn 2 1/2 year old Addy on anytime I want to and soak in a Mommy/Daughter moment.
I love my girls so much! Have I ever mentioned that?
